This is the hilarious moment backpackers were seen riding on the roof of a tuk-tuk in Bangkok.

Footage shows a group of tourists stepping out of the vehicle while two of their friends remain seated on top of the three-wheeler at Khao San Road in Thailand.

After declining to take the holidaymakers to their destination, the driver assumed everyone had left and began driving away on May 17.

However, nearby bystanders quickly shouted for him to stop, pointing out that two people were still on the roof.

The tourists were then asked to climb down before the driver continued on his way.

The pair carefully descended and rejoined their group waiting on the other side of the road.

The driver said: 'I didn't notice they had climbed onto the roof. I'm glad others saw them, otherwise, it could've caused an accident.'
