A wild pelican wandered into a coffee shop leaving a worked to jump on the counter.

Goldie Montgomery was working at LEFT COAST COFFEE Co. in Depoe Bay, Oregon, USA, on May 12 when she had an unusual visitor.

Funny footage captured the bird casually stroll into the shop and around the counter causing Goldie to jump on to the counter.

The pelican stayed in the back of the store for an hour waiting to be rescued, before Goldie opened the door and ran out of the shop allowing the animal to leave.

JB Haslett, store owner, said: “This is the first time that we’ve ever had any wildlife walk into the store. It did stay in the store for almost an hour.

“We let it hang out in our back room to stay safe until the department of fish and wildlife showed up. No damage but a fair amount of pelican mess was left behind.

“Goldie is not necessarily scared of birds, though this guy freaked her out a little. She said she though the pelican was running a lot faster and was right on her heels.

“I was falling on the floor laughing as soon as I heard about it and instantly went for our security camera cameras to see what I could pull up.”
