This is the dramatic moment a cow was startled by a boy and ended up chasing him through a village.

The brown bovine had been grazing peacefully near the gate of a house when the child rode past on his bicycle in Thailand.

CCTV footage shows the horned beast slipping and tumbling to the ground in shock, startled by the youngster's sudden appearance on February 22.

Frightened, the teenager jumped off his bike and bolted, fearing the cow might charge at him.

The animal initially fled in the opposite direction—only to suddenly turn around and begin pursuing the boy, joined by several other cattle.

Alarmed by the commotion, nearby locals rushed outside to see what was happening.

Local media reported that the boy escaped unharmed after dashing into a nearby rice field to evade the unexpected chase.

While cows are generally calm and docile animals, they can become aggressive when startled, threatened, or trying to protect their young. Sudden movements, loud noises, or unfamiliar presences can trigger a fight-or-flight response.

Herd animals like cows may also follow one another instinctively, which can escalate a situation if one begins to charge.

Experts advise staying calm, avoiding direct eye contact, and slowly backing away if a cow appears agitated.
