This is the shocking moment a monkey stole food from the back of a pickup truck.

Footage shows the ravenous primate climbing onto the cargo bed of the vehicle to munch on salted egg spring rolls at Khao Yai National Park in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

The macaque can be seen perched inside, nibbling on snacks it found in one of the plastic bags on June 3.

The driver recalled that they were moving slowly while manoeuvring through the area when the monkey took the chance to leap onto the back of the four-wheeler.

When they reached their destination, they discovered that only one spring roll was left out of the original 12.

Monkeys are common in the region and are known to snatch food and even break into homes and hop on cars in search of meals.
