Phoenix, United States - June 07, 2025 06/06/2025 08:32 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix Fire Department personnel were dispatched to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian on 7th Avenue near Montecito Avenue. According to Peter Schirripa, who witnessed the incident, the pedestrian was attempting to cross the street just south of the crosswalk when he was struck and became trapped under the car. Several bystanders ran to the scene and attempted to lift the car off the trapped man, but were unsuccessful. Firefighters arrived and began utilizing airbags to lift the car off the man before extracting him from under it. The man was rushed to a local area hospital with an unknown extent of injuries. 7th Avenue was closed between Montecito Avenue and Turney Avenue as police investigated the collision.
