Wildlife worker rescued a kidnapped baby goose in New York.
Environmental Conservation Police Officers (ECO) received a tip-off regarding the unlawful capture on Erie Boulevard in Syracuse on May 11.
While patrolling the area, ECO Scalisi located the vehicle about a mile away and began following it.
The vehicle stopped to deliver a DoorDash order, allowing the officer to intervene.
Reports said the driver admitted to catching the baby bird and said they intended to add it to their backyard chicken flock.
A child in the back seat was seen holding the waterfowl in her lap.
Footage shows ECO Scalisi releasing the confiscated creature and reuniting it with its family.
Officials noted that the driver did not have a valid licence and had a previous suspension.
Appearance tickets were issued for unlawful possession of protected wildlife and aggravated unlicenced operation in the second degree.
