Supercars were clamped by authorities after being found parked illegally on the Thai island of Phuket.

Officers launched a crackdown following reports of multiple sports vehicles from neighbouring Singapore brazenly stationed on the road outside a classy restaurant on June 4.

Police found four cars each bearing foreign licence plates. One was marked with a sticker reading 'GTR Owners Club Singapore'.

Furious traffic cops hit each vehicle. Footage shows the luxury vehicles lined up along the roadside, each with its front wheels clamped.

Police Colonel Chatree Chukaew said: 'Officers found these vehicles parked beside a red and white kerb, so we applied wheel clamps and issued tickets.

'We summoned the drivers to pay fines for parking in a prohibited area at Mueang Phuket Police Station and instructed them to move their vehicles out of the no-parking zone.'

The owners were fined 1,000 baht (30.80 USD), though some locals suggested the penalty was too low for such wealthy owners.

One resident said: 'They might consider it merely a parking fee.'

Police stated that all drivers, regardless of nationality, must comply with traffic regulations on Phuket's roads.
