This is the amusing moment an earthquake shook a home, but a food-loving boy refused to leave his noodles.

Mr Li and his two sons were eating lunch in their dining area when a magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck Guangdong, China, on June 23 at 6:48 pm.

CCTV footage shows the father grabbing his youngest child by the arm and immediately fleeing, inadvertently leaving his older son behind.

Undeterred, the youngster followed while munching some noodles.

Moments later, he sprinted back inside to continue eating his supper as his dad shouted for everyone to evacuate.

The boy then scooped up his rice bowl and a roasted eggplant before running outside, while their mother calmly exited the house.

Seeing the food, his frantic father chastised him and instructed him to leave it behind.

Mr Li said: 'He's just born with a little funny gene. Watching the video later, I realised something humorous happened, but I was very nervous, I kept telling him to run.

'When I saw my eldest bringing the food, I immediately asked him to put it back because we live on the ninth floor, if a real earthquake hits, I'm afraid the food could cause him to fall or get injured.'

The family managed to exit safely and reportedly waited about an hour before returning to continue their meal.

The earthquake's epicentre was pinpointed in Qingcheng District, Qingyuan City, at a depth of 10 kilometres, with tremors felt in nearby cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Dongguan.
