Man in Kayak Assists Driver During Holmen, Wisconsin Street Flooding
HOLMEN, Wis. — Minor street flooding caused by heavy rainfall led to an unusual rescue in Holmen, where a man in a kayak was captured on video helping a driver stranded in high water.
The incident occurred within the Village of Holmen, where recent downpours overwhelmed some roadways. A video shared by the Holmen Police Department shows a man paddling through the flooded streets in a kayak to assist someone stuck in their vehicle, offering a humorous yet heartwarming response to the situation.
“Please avoid driving through high water — unless your car floats, or you’ve made prior arrangements with your kayak-owning friend Dave,” the department wrote in a lighthearted Facebook post accompanying the footage.
While the scene sparked laughter online, police reminded residents that flooded roads can be dangerous and should be avoided whenever possible.
Authorities continue to monitor conditions and encourage everyone to stay safe and dry until the waters recede.
