This is the nerve-wracking moment an overtaking truck shunted a car off the road and into a row of trees.

The female motorist was driving on the highway with her daughter when the container lorry suddenly swerved into her lane in Ayutthaya, Thailand.

Dramatic dashcam footage shows the heavy goods vehicle veering off the road as trucks lined up in traffic ahead on April 7.

The mother, who was travelling at a moderate speed, was unable to brake in time, causing her car to collide with the side of the truck.

The impact sent the vehicle crashing into nearby trees on the roadside, while the truck came to a stop next to them.

The pair can be heard screaming in shock.

Local media reported that neither of them sustained injuries from the crash. However, the car was heavily damaged in the collision.
