Meteor Breaks Apart In Fiery Streak Across Scotland Night Sky
Multiple videos captured a meteor disintegrating over Scotland in the early hours of July 2nd, lighting up the night sky with a brilliant flash.
Footage posted by users on X shows the meteor breaking apart as it streaked across different regions, including the Isle of Bute, Falkirk, and the western part of the country.
X user Taylor filmed the meteor at 12:50am over the Isle of Bute. He said it lasted about eight seconds before disappearing, and noted hearing a faint, distant rumble roughly two minutes later. “Excuse my reaction,” he added. “Was quite the sight.”
In Falkirk, X user Mark shared a video with the caption, “Just saw a meteor fly across the sky in Falkirk,” showing the meteor flaring before shattering.
Another clip, shared by X user Adrian Coll, showed the object disintegrating while moving across the sky in western Scotland. “Just caught end of this, anyone else see it???” he wrote.
