Guards in red boiler suits test deadly Squid Game jump rope replica in Bangkok
This is the amusing moment workers in red boiler suits tested a deadly Squid Game jump rope replica in Bangkok.
Footage captured by Suphannapa Viseshakul shows seven 'guards' standing on the platform as they wait for the rope to swing.
They can be seen jumping together twice in the safety drill carried out on the evening of July 5.
After the round, the group faced the spectators and struck a pose with their arms raised above their heads in front of the audience.
The management conducted the drill after incidents involving participants tripping over the rope. This was to ensure that the swinging rope worked properly and would not cause any issues during the game.
Visitors could play the real-life version of the series' iconic skipping rope game, with the giant dolls swinging the rope, from June 28 to July 6.
However, unlike the Netflix series, none of the participants plunge to their deaths to have their organs harvested.
Squid Game Season 3 premiered globally on Netflix on June 27. The final season continues the intense storyline, with protagonist Seong Gi-hun returning to the deadly games after the loss of his friend Jung-bae.
The South Korean Netflix series, originally released in 2021, depicts a deadly competition where contestants play children's games for a large cash prize.
Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk drew inspiration from his own economic struggles, as well as issues of class disparity and capitalism in South Korea.
The show became Netflix's most-watched series and topped charts in 94 countries.
