A kind security guard was seen creating a makeshift bed to keep a stray cat warm during a rainstorm.

Footage shows the employee folding a cardboard box into a cozy shelter in Taguig, the Philippines.

She carefully arranged the flaps to cushion the base and protect it from the cold ground, while the feline quietly watched.

As soon as the Good Samaritan set it down, the moggy climbed inside and curled up to rest for the cold night.

Onlooker Sheryl Alonzo said: 'My friends and I were having dinner at Samgyupsalamat BGC branch when a super heavy rain poured and the wind was blowing so hard also.

'After a while, it caught my attention that the lady guard is assembling the box. Then there I saw she's doing it for the cat.'

The Philippines and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.
