North Fort Myers, United States - July 08, 2025 Late Tuesday night, a mobile home in North Fort Myers became fully engulfed in flames before first responders could arrive. Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies Gehle Jr. and Schack were first on the scene and quickly learned that an elderly couple and their dog were trapped inside the burning structure. Without hesitation, both deputies entered the mobile home and carried the couple and their pet out to safety. The couple was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office praised the bravery of the deputies and expressed gratitude to the local fire and EMS personnel who supported the rescue effort.
