A pet dog joined his owners for a swim in a resort pool.

Footage shows one-year-old Shih Tzu named Mhylo floating in the water, delighting his family in Zambales, the Philippines.

Mhylo climbed onto the ledge before eagerly jumping back in for another round.

The family took the pooch along for a birthday celebration on April 11.

Pet owner Myra Galvez said: ‘We are all dog lovers so for every birthday, we make sure to book a pet-friendly resort.

‘It was only the second time he was able to come along on an outing. The first time, he was not allowed in the pool yet because he was still a baby.

‘That time, we just tried letting him touch the water. We were not even sure if he would enjoy it because he was scared of bathing.

‘That is why we were so surprised when he was the one who kept jumping into the pool.'
