Forced to relocate repeatedly, residents in Gaza are enduring extreme heat and an increasing risk of disease. In areas lacking basic infrastructure, children remain especially vulnerable. To escape the suffocating heat inside tents, families seek brief relief along the coast. After cooling off by the sea, they return to the harsh conditions of their makeshift shelters. Across Gaza, people of all ages face severe shortages of food and medicine, while children suffer from heat-related illnesses and poor hygiene. Israel has killed more than 57,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza since October 2023. The military onslaught has destroyed the enclave, and led to food shortages and the spread of diseases.
