This is the dramatic moment a factory worker caught a monitor lizard and hurled it over a fence.

A female employee spotted the reptile's head poking out from beneath a storage rack and alerted nearby labourers to help remove it in Kamphaeng Phet, Thailand.

Footage shows three men attempting to extract the juvenile lizard from under the pipe shelves on May 20.

Two of them scrambled back in fear, while a brave company truck driver grabbed the animal by its tail.

The cold-blooded creature clung stubbornly to the rack with its jaws before the man forcefully pulled it free and tossed it out of the compound.

Asian water monitor lizards normally live in canals, swamps, sewers and ponds in cities in Thailand. They feed on fish, snakes, frogs and scraps of food left by humans.

The reptiles are aggressive when threatened and have a mildly venomous bite which sometimes carries harmful bacteria. The Godzilla-like reptiles are also a protected species in the country so their population thrives.
