Starting July 24, Beijing was hit by continuous heavy rainfall - the strongest since the start of this year's flood season.

The torrential rain triggered floods and landslides in multiple areas, with several vehicles parked in residential communities swept away.

Floodwaters submerged homes, forcing residents to climb onto rooftops to escape. Rescue personnel used helicopters to assist those trapped.

As of midnight on July 28, the city’s maximum recorded rainfall reached 543.4 mm, with 30 people confirmed dead due to the disaster.
