Dramatic footage shows the kindhearted officer gently washing the canine with soap in Soacha on July 28.

Police said he found the pooch abandoned and did not hesitate to take it in and give it a new home.

Authorities emphasised that serving also means caring for those without a voice, reaffirming their commitment to protecting life in all its forms.

Stray dogs and cats are common in Colombian cities such as Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Cartagena, and Barranquilla. Many animals are abandoned or born on the streets, where they face hunger, illness, and neglect.
