A kind passerby helped a family of tourists retrieve their car key after it was accidentally locked inside their vehicle.

Mark Joseph Odullo saw the foreigners, a father and his daughters, trying to use a wire to unlock the door of their blue van in a parking lot in Leyte, the Philippines.

The husband approached and offered assistance using a Scotch tape hack he had seen on TikTok.

Footage shows the Good Samaritan covering the driver's side window with adhesive on July 28.

The men then pulled the glass down together, creating a small gap which was enough to reach in and grab the key.

His proud wife, Liwayrio, can be heard cheering him on.

She said: ‘Wow, my husband is so good. I am so proud of you. You will get a gift from me later.'

Liwayrio added: ‘We were eating at the McDonald's parking lot when we saw the father struggling with the car.

‘My husband and others nearby offered to help. He said he had seen something similar on TikTok.'

Mark Joseph went to the nearby McDonald's store to borrow some tape and used it for the DIY rescue.

The tourists thanked Mark Joseph and offered to pay, but he and his wife politely declined.
