Video selfie goes wrong as unexpected wave knocks over tourists
An unexpectedly large wave knocked over two tourists who were recording themselves on the beach.
Sopian Dana Baehaki and his friends were standing on a fallen tree on the shore, watching the swells approach them in Bali, Indonesia.
The unsuspecting holidaymakers stood still, enjoying the view, when the massive wave suddenly crashed over them on August 6.
Footage shows water slamming into the men, sweeping them off the tree.
Sopian can be seen falling onto the log and then drifting onto the sand, lying on his stomach, soaking wet.
He quickly pulled himself up as his worried friend walked over to check if he was okay.
Sopian said: 'The waves were not that big at first when I was walking and playing on the beach with my friend. We didn't expect them to get that big.'
Neither of them was harmed in the incident. However, Sopian said it was a warning for themselves and others to be extra cautious on the beach, with the sea packing unecpected power and hidden rip currents.
