Villagers turned their rice fields into a race track following the rice harvest season in central Thailand.

Farmers used their tractors as makeshift racecars during the 'Plowing Car Race' in Ang Thong province, on August 11.

Footage shows engines roaring as the locals rode the modified tilling machines across the swamped rice paddy.

A man was heard providing real-time commentary through a megaphone to pump up the crowd as residents watched under tents on the sidelines, cheering on their preferred contestants.

A village official said: 'The race aims to celebrate the end of the rice season by racing for enjoyment and sharing knowledge on how to repair, maintain, and enhance tiller engines, turning the activity into a community way of life.'
