Farmers in Indonesia take part in motorbike races carrying sacks of rice.

Footage filmed at the Motocross Circuit, Polewali Mandar Sport Center, West Sulawesi province on September 4 shows a race called the 'Taxi Race' attended by hundreds of participants.

In this farmer-style motorcycle racing competition, each racer must load a sack containing 80 kilograms of grain or rice.

They race against each other and go through various challenges to be the winners. Several participants fell into the ditch because they lost their balance.

Candra Anci, a race participant admitted that they were rice transporters who used a modified motorcycle. "The motorbike we use every day is to transport rice from the fields when it is harvested," Anci added.

The race was held to celebrate the anniversary of Indonesia's independence while at the same time fostering togetherness among farmers.
