Injured starling rescued by couple and nursed back to health
This is the heartwarming moment an injured starling was rescued by a couple and nursed back to health.
Mark Lester Perez and his wife, Krizza Feleo Perez, spotted the Asian Glossy Starling struggling in the sun in their garage under 30 degrees Celsius heat in Bulacan, the Philippines.
The kindhearted homeowners did not hesitate to help the visibly weak black bird, panting from exhaustion, on August 12.
Footage shows Krizza carefully lifting the dehydrated feathered creature, whom they named Jetty, and placing it near a hose to give water and cool it down.
She then moved Jetty inside the house and temporarily placed it in a cage, where she also fed it liquid food.
Krizza said: 'We placed Jetty in the cage because it didn't want to fly yet, but it was okay the next day.'
The couple also noticed the bird's mother perched outside their windowsill, seemingly wanting to retrieve her hatchling.
In another clip, the mother bird can be perched atop an electric pole, watching as Jetty looked on from afar.
Eventually, Jetty was reunited with its parent and released back into the wild.
