This is the heartwarming moment an owl with its beak stuck in a plastic chair was rescued by its owner.

Stanly Elliemo spotted the hapless Brown Boobook squeaking in pain in Surabaya, Indonesia.

This prompted the kindhearted woman to check why it was lying face down, only to discover that its long beak was caught in the small holes of the blue stool.

Footage shows Stanly carefully pulling the beak out of the gap on August 1.

She then gently petted the visibly confused feathered creature, causing it to close its eyes in response to her touch while letting out a soft screech.

The owl then looked directly at the camera after the rescuer stopped caressing its feathers.

Stanly said: 'I have a soft spot for owls, and when I saw it struggling, I immediately helped the bird out. It's okay now and doesn't have any injuries.'

Stanly Elliemo runs a small owl conservation project to protect owls from the illegal wildlife trade, raise awareness about their ecological importance, and provide care for injured or rescued birds in Indonesia.
