A heroic shopper used his MMA fighting skills to stop a suspected thief in a shopping mall.

Footage captured by Yun Che Lin shows the athlete putting the alleged snatcher in a Leg Scissor Choke at the Big C Supermarket in Bangkok, Thailand.

The man can be seen pinning the suspect to the ground, locking him with his legs and holding one arm outstretched on September 1.

A store clerk later helped the shopper lift the suspect up, with his hands restrained behind his back.

Yun said: 'I was shopping when I suddenly heard someone screaming nearby. I ran over and saw a man pinned to the ground using a cross-fixation method. Later, I heard people shouting that he was a thief.

'Apparently, the man had grabbed the bags of two local girls and tried to run, but they immediately screamed for help. A brave shopper stepped in and held him down until he was taken away.

'This is a reminder for everyone to be careful when going out.'
