Los Angeles, United States - September 24, 2025 09/24/2025 01:30 am GMT-0700 NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Just after 1:30 a.m., Los Angeles police officers attempted to detain a male shooting suspect who was also wanted for alleged warrant violations while he was riding a bicycle on the 170 Freeway near Sherman Way, according to initial reports. The suspect fled off the freeway into a nearby neighborhood, and officers briefly lost sight of him. A backup was requested as police established a large perimeter. An LAPD helicopter responded and circled overhead. The perimeter was set from Laurel Canyon Boulevard to Vanowen Street near Sherman Way and extended west toward the 170 Freeway. LAPD K-9 units arrived at the scene, and SWAT officers may have also been requested. The search was ongoing.
