A three-metre-long king cobra was rescued out of a family home in Indonesia thanks to the intervention of a local snake charmer on Thursday (November 30th).

The incident took place houses in the Puncak Langik area of South Solok, West Sumatra.

The homeowner discovered the snake after it slithered over his feet, causing him to flee the room it was found in. Eventually they called a local snake charmer named Turiman, who rescued it in about an hour.

Turiman commented: "I arrived at the location, immediately evacuated the snake. There was a little difficulty in evacuating the snake because the location was narrow and the snake was hiding under the cupboard,"

Luckily, none of the house owners were bitten by the King Cobra. I immediately took the snake home to be treated because there were parts of the snake that were injured, and later it will be released back into its natural state."

The King Cobra, approximately 3 meters long, entered residents' houses in the Puncak Langik area, Jorong Kampung, Palak Nagari Pasir Talang Selatan, Sungai Pagu, South Solok, West Sumatra. Thursday night. (11/30/2023).

The snake that entered the room scared the house owner so he reported it to a snake charmer named Turiman to carry out an evacuation of the snake. The evacuation of the Cobra Snake lasted dramatically for an hour.

It started with a report from the owner of Dodit's house to a snake charmer, that a King Cobra had entered the resident's room. So the homeowner and neighbors are afraid to leave the house.

The snake that came in had walked on the house owner's feet while he was on the bed playing Henphon. Sotak was shocked and ran out of the room. Luckily, the homeowner was not bitten by a snake.

Immediately the resident suggested contacting Turiman who is in Solok district, a snake charmer, to come to the resident's house to evacuate the snake which was under the bedroom cupboard.

Snake Charmer Turiman said that initially the owner of the house, Dodit, was playing Henphon on the bed in his room. At that time the dogs outside were making a lot of noise, the owner of the house was shocked when there was a King Cobra next door.

"I arrived at the location, immediately evacuated the snake. There was a little difficulty in evacuating the snake because the location was narrow and the snake was hiding under the cupboard," he said.

After an hour of evacuating, Kint Cobra was finally successfully evacuated and put in a safer sack and taken to the snake charmer's house to be cared for.

"Luckily, none of the house owners were bitten by the King Cobra. I immediately took the snake home to be treated because there were parts of the snake that were injured, and later it will be released back into its natural state," he explained.
