Storyline: Yunnan coffee brews up success in export markets [Voice_over] Coffee from southwest China's Yunnan Province, the country's largest coffee producing region, is percolating in overseas success, with a sharp rise in both export volumes and prices. At a processing workshop in Baoshan City, coffee beans are roasted based on diverse client preferences, with a daily output of around two tons. As overseas orders pour in, the company has been expanding its production capacity. [Sound_bite] Fan Ben, Director, coffee company: "We've just built our third factory this year. This year, our overseas sales have jumped 37 percent compared to last year. And we've exported more than 2 million U.S. dollars worth of products so far." [Voice_over] International coffee futures hit 50-year highs earlier this year, lifting prices for Yunnan coffee beans at the same time. One local company, founded last year, is basking in the rally. [Sound_bite] Li Fengquan, Administration manager, coffee company: "The sustained rally in international coffee bean prices has created an ideal opportunity for Yunnan coffee. Since we started operations last year, we've expanded our reach to overseas markets, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Europe and the United States. Our output value has already exceeded 70,000 U.S. dollars so far this year." [Voice_over] Customs data shows that in the first eight months of the year, Yunnan exported more than 100 million U.S. dollars-worth of coffee and related products, ranking first in the country.
