Bakersfield, United States - October 24, 2025 10/23/2025 09:22 pm GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A stabbing prompted a large police response late Thursday evening near Sterling Road and East Texas Street. The incident was reported at 9:22 p.m. Per initial information, a suspect called police and stated he had stabbed a victim in the neck and chest before running to his home. The suspect initially refused to come out but eventually surrendered after dispatch persuaded him to exit the residence. Officers established an extensive perimeter, and crime scene investigators arrived to document the area and take photographs. The victim's condition was not immediately known. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office responded.
