Drivers were left shocked after seeing flames burning on the back of a tanker truck in Thailand.

Chaiwat Somjit and other motorists were baffled to spot fire coming from the rear of the vehicle as they drove along a road in Chonburi on November 1.

Footage shows flames shooting out from two holes at the back of the truck.

Chaiwat said: 'At first, I was very shocked because I didn't know it was an asphalt truck. I thought it was about to explode.'

Asphalt must be kept hot during transport to stay liquid for road works. The trucks use onboard heating chambers, often fuelled by firewood, to prevent the material from hardening before reaching its destination.
