A truck transporting cheese overturned on Marginal Tietê, heading toward the Ayrton Senna Highway, near the Atílio Fontana Bridge, on the afternoon of Wednesday (5). The accident occurred around 5:06 p.m. in the Jabaquara region, in the southern zone of São Paulo.
According to the Fire Department, nine vehicles were dispatched to the scene, along with teams from SAMU, the Military Police’s Águia 12 helicopter, the Traffic Engineering Company (CET), and the highway concessionaire.
The driver—the first victim rescued—received initial medical attention and was to be taken to Penteado Hospital but did not survive his injuries. Authorities have not confirmed whether he was pronounced dead at the scene or later at the hospital.
The incident was recorded by the 91st Police District, which is responsible for the area.
