Worshippers flocked to Ganges River for a bathing festival in India.

Thousands of devotees assembled at Sangam Beach, Dashashwamedh Ghat, Ramghat, and Baluaghat to bathe in the holy waters and seek blessings on the full moon day of Kartik month in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Aerial footage shows hundreds of Hindu worshippers on the riverbanks, some immersing in the water on Wednesday, November 5.

Others can be seen offering donations to pilgrim priests and lit lamps at the ghats.

The full moon day of Kartik month, known as Kartik Purnima, is a highly significant occasion across India and neighbouring countries. It is celebrated with religious devotion and cultural activities.

Kartik is regarded as one of the holiest months in the Hindu calendar, during which devotees observe prayers, fasting, and rituals, culminating in the celebrations of Kartik Purnima.
