Angry passenger shouts at woman using phone on train
This is the dramatic moment an angry passenger shouted at a woman using her phone on a train.
Footage shows Noriaki Takahash standing inside a Yamanote Line carriage, yelling at the fellow traveller seated in front of him in Tokyo, Japan.
Meanwhile, another man in a tuxedo can be seen attempting to diffuse the situation, but the pensioner continued shouting and pointing his finger at the unfazed traveller on November 3.
An onlooker said the woman called the police, which led Noriaki to press the emergency stop button, bringing the train to a halt. All three stepped off at Mejiro Station to report the incident to station staff.
In Japan, talking on the phone while on public transport is considered poor etiquette. Passengers are expected to keep their phones on silent and use them discreetly, avoiding conversations that may disturb others.
Signs on trains often remind commuters not to make calls, and those who do risk drawing disapproving looks or verbal complaints from fellow travellers.
