A ferry capsized after striking a rock at an estuary in Vietnam.

Footage shows the vessel tilted heavily after becoming grounded on a rocky section near Tran Phu Bridge along the Cai River in Nha Trang.

The boat was partially submerged as powerful currents continue to batter it on November 30. No one was hurt.

The area was hit by waves reaching up to 16 ft (5m), which pushed the small vessel onto the rocks and caused it to land on its side.

Vietnam's National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting said the region had been affected by the impact of Typhoon Koto, which brought severe weather and heavy swells to coastal provinces.

The storm left at least three people dead in Vietnam and disrupted transport across several southern and central areas.

Typhoon Koto formed near southern Philippines on November 23, locally named Verbena. The storm made seven landfalls across the country before moving into the South China Sea on a track toward Vietnam.
