This is a video that took place on December 6, 2025, at the Hangzhou Wildlife Park in Zhejiang. During a performance at the zoo, a black bear suddenly attacked a keeper.

The black bear knocked the keeper down, and several staff members rushed forward, some with tools and some with boards, trying to pull the bear away. Eventually, the bear was carried backstage, and the staff announced the suspension of the performance.

Fortunately, the keeper's clothes were only slightly torn, and he was not injured.

Audience member Mr. Chen said that the black bear may have been trying to grab the keeper's food, and the attack was without warning.

Afterward, the bitten trainer, Zhou Jiazhen, said that the black bear is called 'Xiong Er'. He raised 'Xiong Er' from a young age and knows it well. At the time, 'Xiong Er' only pounced because it was greedy for the carrots in his bag and did not intentionally attack. "If it really wanted to attack, I wouldn't be standing here now."

Hangzhou Wildlife Park subsequently sent 'Xiong Er' to a larger feeding area on the mountain, allowing it to have a more suitable environment for growth, and 'Xiong Er' will no longer participate in behavioural displays. Zhou Jiazhen also said that he often visits 'Xiong Er' when he is free.
