This is the dramatic moment officers caught a 10ft alligator in a parking area in Florida.

Police and wranglers captured the reptile wandering outside a 7-Eleven convenience store on 2751 N River Road in Sarasota County.

Footage shows men dragging the gator with a lasso rope out of the area while the predator wriggled in protest on Tuesday, December 9.

They then hauled the animal to a caged truck.

Local media reported that the alligator will be transported to an alligator farm. No one was harmed in the encounter.

On 3 December, a group of deputies captured a 14ft (4 m) alligator in a residential area. Police later released the 600lb (272 kg) predator at an alligator farm.

Alligators are opportunistic carnivores, eating pretty much anything they can catch. They often hunt fish, turtles, birds, and small mammals.
