This is the shocking moment a tiger's teeth became snagged in a vehicle's tyre after it bit into the wheel during a roadside encounter.

Footage shows the curious feline attempting to unhook its fangs from the rubber after its canine teeth had become firmly wedged deep within the tread of the tyre in Liaoning Province, China.

The driver was seen carefully turning the steering wheel in an attempt to assist the predator on December 17.

However, the animal struggled to free itself and appeared distressed.

Its sibling soon moved closer to nudge the trapped animal, before a third tiger approached to paw at the hapless feline gently.

An onlooker said: 'The tiger eventually managed to free its mouth from the tyre. We were relieved that the animal was unharmed and safe.'
