BAY COUNTY, Fla. — Bay County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded Jan. 15 to a fire at ZooWorld, working alongside multiple public safety agencies to protect lives and property as the incident unfolded.

The sheriff’s office released body-worn camera footage from Cpl. Pierce, which shows the coordinated response during the emergency. In the video, Pierce can be seen directing emergency personnel and helping ensure clear communication in a rapidly changing situation.

Officials said the response was a joint effort involving Bay County Fire and Rescue, the Panama City Beach Police Department and other assisting agencies. First responders worked together to manage the scene and support fire suppression operations.

The sheriff’s office said its thoughts are with ZooWorld staff during the difficult aftermath of the fire, particularly following the loss of animals in the incident.

Authorities praised the professionalism and dedication of all first responders who worked under challenging conditions throughout the morning.
