A touching video has emerged of two men rescuing a kitten after it fell into a sewer in Thailand.

The footage, shot on June 3 shows restaurant owner Somchai Langkaew, 22, using a long pipe to help the cat out of the deadly trap.

‘’I think the cat’s about for or five years old. It had fallen into the hole near my restaurant," he said.

‘’Without us helping it I’m sure it would have drowned. Now I am keeping it as a pet and we have nicknamed him ’Nam’.’'

This is the heart-warming moment a stranded cat is rescued from a dirty sewer by clinging onto a pipe.

The hapless stray moggy was heard crying for help after falling into the uncovered hole in Pathum Thani, Thailand.

Restaurant owner Somchai Langkaew, 22, heard the cat and reached down with a long pipe with green sack wrapped around the end to create a make-shirt rescue device.

The clever cat clung on to the stick as Somchai pulled it up to save it.

It appeared at the surface looking bedraggled but safe - and with a new home to stay in.

Somchai said: ‘’I think the cat’s about for or five years old. It had fallen into the hole near my restaurant.
