Playful baby dwarf mongoose curiously investigates an ant

Buy video

The dwarf mongoose is Africa’s smallest carnivore. They predominantly feed on small insects and invertebrates. While on safari in the Kruger National Park in South Africa., we came across these cute and adorable little creatures. This video shows a playful young baby dwarf mongoose that suddenly gets distracted by an ant. It starts off with the little male playing around with the rest of his siblings in and around an old fallen tree trunk. The old tree trunk provides shelter and a hiding place for these baby dwarf mongooses. While the fun and games continue, the little mongoose suddenly gets distracted by an ant of all things. Thinking that the little mongoose will make a quick meal of the ant at any moment, he instead curiously follows and investigates the ant. He really looks intrigued and very fascinated. He closely watches and follows the ant with real intent. The baby mongoose eventually lost interest and went back to play with his siblings. Watching this cute little mongoose being totally amused by a tiny ant was adorable and a very amusing experience indeed.
