Lost but rambunctious elephant calf chases away selfie seekers
A four-month-old female elephant calf chased away selfie-takers as she was found wandering alone after getting separated from her herd.
The calf was spotted near Chhendipada forest in Odisha, India. A few men stopped their vehicles and tried to take a photo with the brave calf.
But the agitated calf not only chased them away, but also knocked down a few bikes.
A rescue team from the forest department rushed to the spot and tried to reunite her with the herd. But as the calf was reluctant to go back to the forest, they shifted her to the Forest Rangers’ College at Angul.
A senior forest officer Sudarsan Panda said: “The elephant calf is being treated by local veterinary doctors.
"If she is not well, we will treat her. If she is OK, we will try to send her back to the herd.”
The clip was filmed on May 4.
