A group of tourists fled for their lives after a tiger chased them during a safari trip in India.

The tourists were on a jungle safari at Tadoba National Park, in Maharashtra, India. Their wish to spot a tiger was more than fulfilled when they saw a magnificent animal. 

The tiger got too excited and chased them for some time as the tourists drove away shrieking.

An official of the park said: “The tigress ‘Choti Madhu' is a sub adult cub. She chased the tourists just playfully and not to attack. If she really wanted to attack, she would have pounced on the vehicle.”

The incident happened on September 12 although the video has recently surfaced online.

The tiger got a little excited and chased them for some distance as the tourists shrieked and scrambled to get away.

An official of the park said: “The tigress ‘Choti Madhu' is a sub adult cub. She chased them just playfully and not to attack. If she really wanted to attack, she would have pounced on the vehicle.”

“Though the video surfaced on November 11, the incident is a few months old,” added the official.
