Emphatic dog feeds orphaned goat
A video of a bitch breast-feeding an orphaned goat has become talk of the town in Puddukotai district in south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. In the aftermath of cyclone Gaja, the goat lost its mother after the latter ate uncooked rice that led to her death. Since her demise, the goat is being raised by the dog. ‘At first, we were scared to let the goat kid near the female dog. The dog could have bitten calf. But the canine treated the baby goat under its wings and started breastfeed milk in a rare show of compassion,’ said Duraiswamy, the owner of the dog.
