A dramatic footage has emerged of a boy being rescued from inside a well in central India. The incident took place on Apr 26 in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh state.

Visuals from the scene showed the boy inside the well. A few seconds later, a man climbs down the well and ties the boy, who sustained an injury from the fall, to a cloth for others to pull him up.

The boy is safely pulled out and comforted by locals. Visibly shaken up by the accident, the boy is seen in tears.

Footage shows him seated inside an ambulance.

Reports said the boy is presently recuperating in a hospital.

It is still not known how the 12 year old fell inside the 40 feet dry well.

The rescue operation took nearly two hours.
