Villagers in Dewas District, Madhya Pradesh risk their lives every day to reach their farmland.

In the absence of a bridge or a road, villagers have tied a rope to banks of both sides of the river.

Local authorities have received several complaints but no solution has been put in place, villagers say.

In Berakheri village of Dewas district in Madhya Pradesh villagers risks their life many times a day to reach their farm land for farming. Due to lack of any road or a passing bridge villagers are bound to cross a river with the help of a rope to reach their farm land ,risking their life. According to villagers women and children have also cross the same way, there is always a danger to life as many villagers dont know how to swim. Villagers further adds that during rainy season it's become more dangerous as river starts overflowing. We have several time written and Complaint to local minister and authority but to one pay heed to our problems adds one of the villager. There is no other way to cross the river and reach the other side of the part.
