Man rescued after tripping over walking on hot coals in south India
A man tripped over while crossing on hot embers during an Islamic festival in southern India on September 10.
Video shows the Muharram festival in Roppa village near Pavagada, Karnataka state, where a would-be firewalker tripped into a pit of hot coals.
Fortunately, he fell towards the far end of the pit and the organisers were able to pull him to safety.
An eyewitness Shakil Mohammad said: “As he was rescued immediately, he did not suffer any burns. But the incident prompted the organisers to manage the crowd with more attention.”
