Rescue workers had an epic struggle to catch a wild python which slithered into the gap between two walls.

Terrified caretaker Somsak Wongwharasin, 66, was on his duty when he saw the reptile in a warehouse in Chachoensao, Thailand, on Monday (16/09).

He called for the rescuer team but the when they came the serpent was already slithered and hidden inside the walls.

The team spent more than 30 minutes using sledgehammers to bash a hole in the breeze blocks before dragging out the snake by its tail.

Somsakthat the main challenge to catch the snake was its size.

He said: "The python's tummy was swollen, so it must have eaten a cat before then went inside the walls to digest its food.''

The rescue foundation volunteers bandaged the snake as it was wounded during the struggle. It was then released back into the wild.
