Monkey trapped in overhead wire rescued by firemen
A video has emerged of a monkey being rescued after it got trapped in an overhead high tension electric wire in southern India.
The incident took place on Sept. 27 near Manapparai town of Tamil Nadu's Tiruchirappalli district.
Visuals showed firemen placing a ladder below the wire to facilitate the monkey's landing.
After failing to retrieve the monkey, a fireman was seen using a stick to poke the monkey.
Following a few attempts, the rescuers finally managed to get the monkey to move.
Slowly, the monkey starts to descend down the ladder and reunite with its family.
Reports said locals had alerted the fire department after noticing the distressed monkey.
After reaching the spot, rescuers contacted the power supply department and turned it off before commencing the operation.
