Tipsy earthmover driver threatens to wreck petrol bunk, topples police van before fleeing spot in northwestern India
Shocking scenes prevailed at a petrol bunk in northwestern India's Rajasthan where a drunk driver of an earthmover threatened to wreck the facility before overturning a police jeep and fleeing the spot.
The incident, which was caught on CCTV cameras, took place on Nov. 13 in Jodhpur city.
Visuals show the earthmover entering the petrol bunk and is followed by cops who fear an escalation as the driver was in an inebriated state.
As a policeman approaches the earthmover, the driver starts moving it towards the police jeep, forcing the cops to run for their lives.
Seeing the bigger vehicle nearing it, the driver of the police van starts to go reverse, however, in a shocking display of road rage, the drunk man topples it.
Fortunately, the driver of the van manages to escape the wrecked car as others rush to his aid.
One stick-wielding policeman also charges towards the earthmover and strikes the vehicle a few times, forcing the driver to turn sharply and flee the spot.
According to reports, a worker had called for the police when the driver threatened to wreak havoc at the petrol bunk.
Upon arriving at the scene, the police tried to control the situation but the drunk driver did not comply and attacked the officials.
The officials suffered minor injuries while the driver was later nabbed after a chase.
The driver, identified as Mahipal Vishnoi, has previous records of being notorious and not paying for the fuel at different petrol bunks.
A case has been filed against the driver at the local police station.
